“I met Matt as a young child. A theme running throughout the decades I have known him is commitment. As a boy, he was committed to helping on the farm and being a role model for his younger sister. As a teen and young adult he showed commitment to Georgian College and has now worked for the College for many years. Matt has been committed to the Elmvale Fall Fair since becoming an ambassador and today is a key member of the Flos Agricultural Society. Matt's further commitment to agriculture is seen in his participation with the Canadian National Exhibition beyond his year as ambassador of all the fairs, leading workshops to help promote the importance of Ontario agriculture.

Today, Matt is committed to his growing family and his community. This can be seen in his many efforts to interact with citizens in our ward. He is approachable and listens intently. As well, you can often see Matt and his family participating in the many events our ward offers, encouraging others to visit our area.

Elmvale has unique needs and I am certain that Matt's commitment will benefit our town. He agrees that the arena is a vital part of our economic and social success. He knows the importance of working with trustees to ensure our schools thrive. And, with a growing family of his own, he understands that community safety needs to be maintained.
